I wanted to love this bell. It is so cute. However, the poor quality prevents it from actually...you know...ringing. The top "lid" of the bell screws onto the base to cover the inside gear components. However, every time you pull the lever to ring the bell, the lid unscrews a bit, until it is spinning freely. If you tighten the "lid" down so that it doesn't spin, it then compresses the inner gears and prevents the bell from ringing. There is no middle ground.It also did not fit around the handlebars of either of my bikes. The screws on the bracket with it were too short to reach the bell.If you want a bell that works, look elsewhere.
